China’s dangerous game! Huge nuclear fort being built in the desert, 80 launch pads ready

New Delhi: China is busy strengthening its nuclear weapons. Reuters satellite images have revealed that large-scale military construction is going on in the desert areas of north-western China.

New launch pads, strong bases and modern communication networks are being built. Experts believe that China is building such a system that even after a major attack, its nuclear power remains intact and it can retaliate.

Construction taking place in Xinjiang-Gansu

According to media reports, all this construction is mainly taking place in Xinjiang and Gansu provinces. China’s longest range intercontinental ballistic missiles are deployed in these areas. According to security experts, the purpose of the new facilities is to protect these missiles from any attack.

Such a huge military expansion seen for the first time

Hans Christensen, director of the Nuclear Information Project of the Federation of American Scientists, said he had never seen such a large military buildup before. According to him, this is an extraordinary and very big step by China.

Satellite images show more than 80 concrete launch pads near the Hami missile field in Xinjiang. Three large octagonal military bases were also visible. Experts believe that they will be used as mobile missile launcher, air defense, electronic warfare, satellite communication and command center.

What is special about these places?

New pictures show two large military complexes. These have accommodation for soldiers, sheds for large vehicles, bunkers, secure warehouses, airstrip and rail connectivity. Military exercises also took place here in April-May. Large tents, hidden hideouts and air defense systems were also seen in the pictures.

From these bases many roads and tunnels lead far into the desert. It is believed that fiber-optic cables have been laid in these which connect the launch pad to the command center. Satellite dishes and large communication towers have also been built.

China is increasing second strike capability

Experts say that this entire network is spread over thousands of square kilometers. This will increase both the security and operational capability of China’s nuclear missiles. China is strengthening its second strike capability. This means that even if there is a nuclear attack on it first, it will be able to retaliate.

Concern for America and the West

China has always talked about not launching a nuclear attack first. But its rapidly growing nuclear infrastructure has increased the concern of America and Western countries. Many experts say that China provides very little information on its nuclear program, which raises questions about its strategy.

According to the report, China may have 1,000 nuclear weapons by 2030. Currently, about 100 ICBMs are deployed in three missile fields. The way China is building a network of missile defense, communications and mobile launchers, it looks quite different and bigger than other nuclear powers.
