CM Dhami said – Youth should not just be job seekers, think of creating employment themselves.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday put forward the vision of the state government and the central government regarding higher education. CM Dhami, who reached a symposium organized at Shivalik College of Engineering in Dehradun, made a big call to the youth and educationists. He said in clear words that today’s youth will have to become not just job seekers but also employment creators. The Chief Minister was speaking as the chief guest at a program organized here on the topic ‘Importance of higher education in building a developed India 2047’.

In fact, while addressing the program, CM Dhami emphasized that the purpose of higher education is not just to obtain a degree or to gather knowledge. In fact, it is the biggest means of laying the foundation of a developed, self-reliant and prosperous India. He said that the changes that have taken place in the field of education, research and skill development in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are unprecedented. These changes will make the dream of making India a developed nation by the year 2047 come true.

National Education Policy-2020 will change the picture of the country

The Chief Minister specifically mentioned the new education policy in his address. He said that the National Education Policy-2020 is a historic step towards bringing back the old and glorious history of the Indian education system. It is being told that this policy is not limited to bookish knowledge only, rather it promotes all-round development, new experiments and practical skills of the students. CM said that now the time has come when our higher educational institutions have to move beyond just centers of studies and establish themselves as centers of excellence for research and innovation.

India’s reputation is getting stronger globally

Today’s India is changing and underlining this, CM Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the country has emerged as a major startup hub of the world. Pitches like Digital India and Self-reliant India have doubled the pace of progress of the country. Today, be it science, technology, defense sector or space, health and education, India is creating a strong and distinct identity for itself at the global level on every front.

Emphasis on AI and data science in Uttarakhand

When it came to Uttarakhand, the CM proudly said that Devbhoomi has always been the center of a rich tradition of education, knowledge and spirituality. The state government is now connecting this tradition with modern technology. For this, smart classrooms, digital libraries and online education facilities are being rapidly expanded in the state. Along with this, now students of Uttarakhand are studying modern subjects like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning and Data Science. The Chief Minister also informed that the ‘Center for Hindu Studies’ established in Doon University will work to give a new and right direction to the study and research of Indian knowledge tradition.

The state government is coordinating between industries and educational institutions to adapt the youth to the changing times. Under this, industry-linked courses, internship programs and startup incubation centers are being promoted. At the end of the program, the Chief Minister appealed to all the academicians and experts present there to use their experience to fulfill the resolution of ‘Developed India 2047’.

On this special occasion, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat along with Shivalik College President Sunil Kumar, Vice President Ajay Kumar and Vice Chancellors and academicians of many universities were present.
