Fuel prices in the domestic market have remained stable since the increase on Saturday last week.

Meanwhile, a good news is coming out from the global market. Some decline has been recorded in the prices of crude oil at the international level. However, experts say that this decline is still much lower than the level before the start of the war, that is, prices still remain at a high level.

Inflation shock has occurred 4 times in the month of May

So far in the current month i.e. May, the prices of petrol and diesel have been increased four times. In these four installments alone, fuel prices have increased by about Rs 7.5 per litre. In fact, due to the skyrocketing prices of crude oil at the international level, there was immense pressure on the oil marketing companies to increase the prices. Before this increase, oil companies were facing huge losses of about Rs 1000 crore per day, which has now reduced to less than Rs 500 crore per day after the increase in prices.

To save the public from rising inflation, the Central Government had also made efforts at its level and reduced the excise duty. But when the prices of crude oil did not come under control in the international market, ultimately the oil companies had to take the decision to increase the prices.
