Tezzbuzz Desk – A big change has been seen in the politics of Karnataka. The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) unanimously voted for D.K. Shivkumar has been chosen as its new leader. With this, the way has been cleared for him to become the next Chief Minister of the state. It is being told that his swearing-in ceremony will be held on June 3.

After the resignation of Siddaramaiah from the post of Chief Minister, the process of transfer of power in the state has intensified. Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot has accepted the resignation of Siddaramaiah and dissolved the current Council of Ministers. After this, a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party was called, in which D.K. Shivkumar was elected the leader of the legislative party.

This important meeting held at Vidhana Soudha was monitored by senior Congress leader K.C. Venugopal and Randeep Surjewala. Before the meeting, both the leaders were given a grand welcome by party workers and MLAs.

After Shivkumar was elected Chief Minister, preparations for the swearing-in ceremony have started. It is being considered whether the ceremony should be organized at Raj Bhavan or on the historic stairs of Vidhan Soudha. However, preparations have been intensified at the administrative level in the capital Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, discussions are also going on regarding the formation of the new cabinet. Many senior Congress leaders and MLAs have become active in seeking a place in the cabinet. According to sources, many new faces may get a chance in the new team, while the situation regarding the return of some existing ministers is not yet clear.

There is also a strong discussion in the political circles that more than one Deputy Chief Minister can be made in the new government. However, the final decision in this regard will be taken only after the approval of the Congress leadership.

Before being selected for the post of Chief Minister, D.K. Shivkumar also met Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot after reaching Raj Bhavan. It is believed that during this, preliminary discussions were held on issues related to the swearing-in ceremony and the formation of the new government.

Now all eyes are on June 3, when D.K. Shivakumar can officially take over the power of Karnataka by taking oath as the Chief Minister.
