New Delhi: In the last few days, a big change has been seen in the weather of North India. People suffering from extreme heat and heat wave are now getting relief due to rain, strong winds and storm. The weather has suddenly changed in many states including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand, due to which a drop in temperature has been recorded. The Meteorological Department estimates that this relief may continue for the next few days, although the temperature is expected to rise again after the first week of June.
What will be the temperature on June 1?
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature on June 1 is likely to be 38 degrees Celsius and the minimum 25 degrees. On June 2, the temperature may rise to 39 degrees, while on June 3 and 4, with clear weather, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 40 to 41 degrees Celsius. Experts say that due to western disturbances and local weather activities, the weather remains pleasant at present.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), favorable conditions are being created for the advance of monsoon into parts of the Arabian Sea, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep and the Bay of Bengal. Apart from this, the trough line and western disturbances extending from Pakistan to Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh remain the main reasons for change in weather.
The sudden rain in Delhi-NCR on Saturday gave relief to the people from the heat. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for May 31 and has predicted light rain, thunderstorms and strong winds at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature in the capital is expected to be 36 degrees and minimum 25 degrees Celsius.
In Uttar Pradesh too, the temperature has dropped after rain and strong winds. The maximum temperature in Lucknow was recorded about 6 degrees below normal. The Meteorological Department has warned of thunderstorm and lightning in many parts of the state on Sunday also.
Due to increased activity of south-west monsoon in Madhya Pradesh, heavy rains, hailstorm and stormy winds are continuing in many districts. An alert has been issued for heavy rain and lightning in many districts including Mandsaur, Neemuch, Gwalior and Indore. The weather in Rajasthan is also expected to remain changed for the next four to five days. There may be strong winds, rain and hailstorm in many areas here.
In Jharkhand too, the Meteorological Department has issued orange alert in many districts. According to Ranchi Meteorological Center, the temperature has dropped by about seven degrees, but it may increase again in the next few days.
Appeal to people to be cautious
The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to remain alert. Citizens have been advised to stay away from open places during inclement weather, avoid unnecessary travel and exercise caution during lightning. Farmers have also been instructed to ensure the safety of crops and animals.
Regarding monsoon, IMD has said that this time there is a possibility of less than normal rainfall in many parts of the country including Kerala. Although some areas may receive good rainfall in the second week of June, the average rainfall for the entire month is expected to be below normal.
