250th anniversary of American independence surrounded by controversies, Trump takes a jibe at artists
Washington. The celebration of 250 years of America’s independence has become a political arena even before it has started. Many veteran musicians have withdrawn their names from ‘The Great American State Fair’ to be held at the National Mall. The reason for the artists’ withdrawal is that this program is related to President Donald Trump. Meanwhile, a big update has come out. Now Donald Trump himself will take command of this festival. The organizers have officially confirmed this on Saturday.
Trump’s taunt on artists
Donald Trump has reacted to this entire incident on his social media platform Truth Social. Taking aim at the artists, he wrote that they are scared to perform. Trump further wrote that instead of these third rate artists, he would like to replace these third rate artists with the greatest President in history i.e. Donald J. Thinking of bringing ‘Trump’ on stage. However, this post has also created a new confusion. Trump used the word ‘Wednesday’ twice for the event in his post, even though the fair is scheduled to begin on June 25. The White House has not yet given any explanation on this difference in dates.
Is Freedom 250 non-political?
This fair is being organized by an organization named Freedom 250. Organization spokeswoman Danielle Alvarez said the fair, which will run from June 25 to July 10, will feature a variety of exhibits, family attractions, flyovers and musical shows. Although this event is being described as non-partisan. But it was started by Trump himself last year. Currently its command is in the hands of a former diplomat of the Trump administration. This is the reason why big artists like Bret Michaels, The Commodores and Martina McBride distanced themselves from the show last week.
Some artists still stand
The artists who withdrew from the show say that they were misled about the theme of the program. He does not want to get involved in any political controversy. However, some artists still remain a part of the program. These include Fab Morvan of Florida, Milli Vanilli and Vanilla Ice. A representative for Vanilla Ice clarified that the rapper is extremely proud to be a part of America’s 250th anniversary.
