Attempt to hijack a plane in America? Passengers ran to enter the cockpit during the flight, created chaos…

New Delhi. There was chaos inside a passenger plane in America when a person allegedly tried to enter the cockpit. The incident happened on a United Airlines flight that was going from Chicago to Minneapolis. Due to security concerns, the plane had to land midway at Madison Airport in Wisconsin.

According to the report, the Boeing 737 plane took off from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport on Friday night. There were 147 passengers and 6 crew members on board the plane. The behavior of a passenger during the flight raised the concerns of the crew members and passengers.

  • According to an audio recording by air traffic control, the plane’s pilot told the control room that law enforcement officers on board the plane had detained a “unruly passenger.” The plane later landed at Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, where a team of local police and federal agencies were already present.

The matter was considered more serious when the flight crew activated the emergency transponder code “7500”. In the aviation world, this code is usually used in case of possible hijacking or illegal interference in the aircraft.

In an audio clip from air traffic control that surfaced after the incident, a crew member was heard saying that the suspicious passenger had tried to reach the cockpit several times. “I don’t think he was handcuffed, but after several attempts he was finally subdued. He was repeatedly trying to get into the cockpit,” the crew member said.

The plane completed its onward journey

As soon as information about the incident was received, FBI and local law enforcement agencies became active. An FBI spokesperson confirmed that the agency’s team and local officials reached the airport after the plane was diverted. After taking the passenger into custody, the plane was cleared for further travel.

It is a matter of relief that there is no news of any passenger or crew member being injured in this entire incident. After taking the suspect into custody, the plane resumed its journey and reached Minneapolis safely on Saturday morning.
