Why are cesarean deliveries increasing in this state, 90% of deliveries are done by operation, know the reason…

New Delhi:- According to the report of the National Family Health Survey, a large number of deliveries in Jammu and Kashmir are taking place through cesarean (C-section). Not only this, a continuous increase in the cases of cesarean delivery has been recorded in many other states of the country also. Health experts believe.

There could be many reasons behind this like health complications of pregnant women, increasing trend in private hospitals, fear of labor pain and medical advice. In such a situation, it is natural to raise the question that why the cases of cesarean delivery are increasing so rapidly. The report shows that Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal and Telangana are among the states where private hospitals have the highest rates.

In these states, 90%, 87.7% and 84% of deliveries have taken place through C-section respectively. There could be many reasons behind this. Nowadays, fear of the pain of normal delivery is seen in many women. At the same time, the fear of any kind of problem for the child or mother during delivery can also incline people towards cesarean delivery. Additionally, the convenience of scheduling a delivery date in advance and certain medical conditions may also lead to increased cases of C-section.

84% deliveries in Telangana were by cesarean.
According to reports, 84% of deliveries in private hospitals in Telangana have been through C-section. On the other hand, in Andhra Pradesh this figure was 66 percent. Apart from this, 81.4 percent deliveries in Assam and 76.8 percent deliveries in Odisha were through caesarean section.

Government hospitals lag behind compared to private hospitals
The number of children born through C-section has been increasing in India for the last several years. While in the year 2005-06, only 8.5% children were born through C-section, this figure increased to 17.2% in 2015-16 and 21.5% in 2019-21.

According to recent reports, more than a quarter of births (27.2%) in the country are taking place through C-section. However, it is a matter of relief that the rate of cesarean delivery in government hospitals has seen a slow increase in comparison.
Increasing cases of cesarean delivery
Pain during delivery: Women often hear experiences related to labor pain from their family or other women around. Many times, in these experiences, labor pain is described as extremely painful, due to which pregnant women become afraid of normal delivery. Experts believe that this mental fear can also in some cases motivate women to lean towards cesarean delivery, even if their pregnancy was normal.
Increasing unknown fears regarding the health of the child: Many times, pregnant women and their family members remain deeply worried about the safety of the child in the womb. They remain apprehensive that the child may face some kind of complication during a normal delivery. Due to this fear and feeling of insecurity, some families ask the doctor for advice on adopting the option of cesarean delivery.
Changing trend regarding delivery date and time: Earlier delivery was considered a natural process, in which the time was decided automatically. But now, due to changing lifestyle and convenience, in many cases people are moving towards planning the date and time of delivery in advance. This trend is being seen especially in cases of cesarean delivery.
remember these things
If there is any risk to the health of the mother or child, cesarean delivery may prove to be a safe and necessary option. But when medically normal delivery is possible, one should avoid choosing C-section merely because of fear of pain, apprehension of something untoward or convenience of fixing the date.
