The box office pace of this film, which thoroughly entertained the audience in theaters for about six weeks, has now started slowing down. ‘Bhoot Bangla’, directed by Priyadarshan, has been included in the popular films of this year. This was the reason why the film did excellent business at the domestic and global box office and crossed the Rs 200 crore mark.
According to reports, the digital rights of this film, made with a budget of around Rs 120 crore, have been sold to OTT giant Netflix for around Rs 60 crore. Its satellite rights have been bought by Zee Cinema for Rs 25 crore, while for music rights, a deal worth about Rs 10 crore has been made with Zee Music. In this way, the film has ensured huge earnings through other mediums besides its theatrical release.
According to the information, ‘Bhoot Bangla’ will be streamed on Netflix on June 12, 2026. After some time, its world television premiere will be telecast on Zee Cinema. In such a situation, the audience will soon get the opportunity to enjoy this horror-comedy film on their mobile laptop and smart TV.
Talking about the film’s earnings, its net collection at the Indian box office has reached around Rs 178 crore, while worldwide the film has registered a gross collection of more than Rs 211 crore. Even after being in theaters for several weeks continuously, the film has been successful in attracting the audience.
The story of the film revolves around a young man named Arjun Acharya, played by Akshay Kumar. Arjun inherits a vast estate from his ancestors. Struggling with financial crunch, Arjun decides to organize his sister’s wedding in the same old palace. However, the village people forbid him to do so because there is a terror of a mysterious and dangerous power called Vadhusur who preys on newly married brides. After this, a series of events full of fear, thrill and humor begins which keeps the audience engaged till the end.
Now it will be interesting to see whether ‘Bhoot Bangla’, which was a success in theaters, gets the same amount of love from the audience on the OTT platform as well or not.
