BJP becomes stronger than 2021
If we look at the past history of Mandi Municipal Corporation, in the 2021 elections, BJP had laid its strong foundation in the city by winning 11 out of 15 wards. This time the circumstances were completely different. BJP had contested this election in the role of opposition. There is a Congress government in the state. Despite this, BJP increased its number of seats to 12 this time. Which shows its strong organizational structure.
The credibility of Jairam Thakur and Anil Sharma is at stake.
The hard work of senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur was behind this big electoral success. Jai Ram Thakur himself took charge of the elections and carried out intensive public relations in every ward to sway the voters in favor of the party. Along with this, the reputation of local BJP MLA and former minister Anil Sharma was also directly linked to this election. The Sharma family has had decades-long political influence in the Mandi area.
BJP more powerful
This historic result has not only made the BJP more powerful at the local level but has also provided a new energy to the organizational structure of the party at the district level. Being the main opposition party in the assembly, this victory for BJP will act as a lifeline for the upcoming state level politics.
