One minute late and the dream is shattered? Students cried when gates were closed in B.Ed exam in Jharkhand, then chaos broke out
Jharkhand: During the B.Ed entrance examination conducted by Jharkhand Joint Entrance Competitive Examination Council (JCECEB), there was a tremendous uproar and ruckus at the Graduate College Examination Center in Sakchi, Jamshedpur on Sunday.
Why was the gate closed?
Dozens of candidates were deprived of taking the examination despite arriving on time due to excessive time taken by the security personnel and management deployed at the gate of the examination center in document verification. Enraged by this negligence, the students locked the main gate of the college and raised slogans and demonstrated against the district administration and the college management.
tortoise move of checking
According to eyewitnesses and victim candidates, the time to start the examination was fixed at 10:30 am. Whereas the last time of gate closing and reporting was fixed at 10:15 am. A large number of students stood in queues outside the college campus at 10 in the morning. It is alleged that the staff posted at the center checked the admit cards and identity cards at the gate so slowly that time kept passing. The students standing outside kept pleading to be allowed inside, but at 10:15 the main gate was suddenly locked.
Students climbed the main gate
There was anger among the candidates who were angry at being deprived of the examination. In protest, many male and female students climbed the high iron main gate of the college and started demanding to be allowed inside. The students made serious allegations and said that the examination management deliberately gave entry to some influential and selected students even at the last moment. Whereas poor students coming from far-flung villages and districts were stopped outside the gate. Due to this partisan attitude, there was an atmosphere of heated debate and chaos outside the center for a long time.
claim check
This time in Jharkhand, about 40 thousand students are appearing in the B.Ed entrance examination. Strict security arrangements were made for the examination. But the chaos at this center in Jamshedpur has raised serious questions on the examination conduct process. The crying students said that they had been preparing for this entrance exam for years and due to this gross negligence of the college administration, their entire year would be wasted. The aggrieved students have demanded from the Deputy Commissioner to conduct a fair investigation into this entire matter and conduct re-examination for them.
