Horrific accident on Agra-Lucknow Expressway, three including woman killed, five seriously injured

Agra. Three people, including a woman, died in a tragic road accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway late on Sunday night, while five people, including an innocent child, were seriously injured. The speeding car rammed into the moving container from behind. The collision was so severe that the car got stuck in the rear of the container and was blown to pieces. There was chaos on the expressway after the accident. According to the police, Soheb son of Salim, resident of Churu, Rajasthan, was driving the car. All the people in the car were returning from Bihar to Rajasthan. A total of eight people were traveling in the vehicle including Parmila (31), Pooja Kumari (32), Raju (35), Ayansh (6).

At around 2 am on Sunday night, a speeding car suddenly collided with the container moving ahead at kilometer 36.700 of Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Fatehabad police station area. The collision was so strong that the car completely entered the rear part of the container. According to eyewitnesses, after the accident, the container driver dragged the car for about 50 meters. As soon as information about the incident came, the driver left the container and fled from the spot.

As soon as the information was received, Inspector-in-charge Fatehabad Vinod Kumar Mishra and UPEDA security officer Radha Mohan Dwivedi reached the spot with the team. Due to the car being badly damaged, the help of Hydra machine had to be taken to rescue the people trapped in it. The injured were taken out after a relief and rescue operation that lasted for about half an hour.

However, by then three people including a woman had died on the spot. Parmila, Raju, car driver Soheb, Pooja Kumari and six-year-old Ayansh were seriously injured. All the injured were first taken to the Community Health Center Fatehabad, where after first aid, in view of their critical condition, they were referred to SN Medical College, Agra.

The police have taken the bodies of the deceased into their custody and sent them for post-mortem. Also, a search has been started for the container driver who absconded after the accident.

Inspector in-charge Fatehabad Vinod Kumar Mishra said that three people including a woman have died in the accident, while five people have been injured. Treatment of the injured is ongoing and the matter is being investigated.
