Good news for the people of Bihar! 4 new bypasses will change the traffic picture
Patna. To improve the traffic system in Bihar’s capital Patna and its surrounding areas, work is being done on large scale road projects. In this series, Danapur-Bihta elevated road project is progressing rapidly.
After the completion of this ambitious project, not only will there be relief from traffic jams, but travel from Patna towards Western Bihar and Uttar Pradesh will also become much easier. The government aims to complete this project and open it for traffic by the year 2027.
Will be included in the long elevated corridor
This four-lane elevated corridor to be built from Danapur to Bihta will be about 25 kilometers long. It is considered to be one of the longest urban elevated highways in the country. The project, being prepared at a cost of about Rs 1,969 crore, aims to reduce the increasing traffic pressure in the capital region and ensure faster mobility.
Bypasses will be built at 4 major places
To make the traffic more smooth and hassle-free, four important bypasses will also be developed on this route. These include Neuraganj Bypass, Panel Bypass, Kanhauli Bypass, Vishunpura Bypass. With the construction of these bypasses, the pressure of local and long distance vehicles will be separated, which is expected to reduce the problem of traffic jam.
Direct connection to Bihta Airport
The biggest benefit of this project will be given to the future Bihta Civil Enclave (Airport). Through the elevated road, direct connectivity will be established from Patna city to the airport without any traffic disruption. Apart from this, special ramps and loops will be built at Danapur Railway Station, Shivala Mod, Bihta Airport Link and Bihta-Sarmera Bypass so that local traffic can also operate easily.
Saving time on Patna to Delhi route
This project is an important part of Patna-Buxar fourlane project (NH-922). After the opening of the road, passengers going from Patna towards Uttar Pradesh and Delhi will get great relief. Experts estimate that travel time could be reduced by about two hours, which would also boost trade, transportation and tourism.
Students and educational institutions will also benefit
Access to the new campuses of premier educational institutions like IIT Patna and NIT Patna located in Bihta area will be much easier than before. Students, teachers and employees will get the benefit of fast and easy transportation facility, due to which the education sector will also see a positive impact.
