Weather took a sudden turn in Rajasthan, yellow alert of storm and rain in 20 districts

Jaipur. The weather has suddenly taken a turn in Rajasthan. After two consecutive days of sandstorm and dust storm, an alert of storm and rain has been issued in many parts of the state on Monday.

Due to active Western Disturbance, it rained in Sawai Madhopur and surrounding areas on Monday morning, while it remained cloudy in many districts including Jaipur and Dausa.

According to the Meteorological Department, yellow alert has been issued in 20 districts of the state. This change in weather is likely to continue till June 4. On Monday morning, the weather changed in Sawai Madhopur city at around 6 o’clock and it rained heavily for about 15 minutes.

On Sunday, due to a strong sandstorm in the border areas of Jaisalmer, many areas were covered with dust and soil. Later the temperature dropped due to rain and hailstorm.

During the last 24 hours in the state, light to moderate rain occurred in Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Churu, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Barmer and Jalore districts. There was intense heat in Jaisalmer till Sunday afternoon and the temperature reached above 40 degrees Celsius.

In the afternoon, a sandstorm arose from the Pakistan border area, which engulfed many areas including Sultana, Mohangarh and Suthar Mandi. Due to strong winds, the sky was filled with dust and visibility was affected.

On Sunday, the highest temperature in the state was measured at 42 degrees Celsius in Barmer. Apart from this, 41.5 degree Celsius temperature was measured in Jaisalmer, 39.1 in Jalore, 38.9 in Jodhpur, 38.2 in Udaipur and Vanasthali (Tonk), 38 in Chittorgarh, 37.4 in Kota, 37.3 in Sriganganagar and 37 degree Celsius in Alwar.

Weather experts say that due to the influence of western disturbance, strong winds, dusty storms and light rains may continue in the state for the next few days, which is expected to provide some relief from the scorching heat.
