Big good news for children: Summer vacation starts in schools of Bihar
Patna: Summer holidays have started in the government schools of Bihar, but this time the education and learning process of children will continue even during the holidays. The state government has decided to organize special summer camps in every village and hamlet to strengthen the basic academic ability of the students of classes five and six.
These camps, which started from Monday, will help children develop better understanding of language and mathematics through games and sports. The main objective of these summer camps being organized at about 80 thousand places across the state is to strengthen the ability of children to read, write and calculate.
80 thousand volunteers will take responsibility
A large number of volunteers have been deployed to conduct the summer camp. In each camp, a volunteer will work to teach the children. A volunteer will be in charge of a group of 10 to 15 children, so that individual attention can be given to each child. These volunteers include Shiksha Sevaks, personnel associated with Talimi Markaz and trained teachers and associates selected from various schools.
Learning will be done through games and stories
The most special thing about summer camp is that here the emphasis will not be on books only like in a traditional class. Children will have the opportunity to learn through games, stories, group activities and creative exercises. The daily sessions will include games, story telling, vocabulary enhancing exercises, sound recognition and solving mathematical problems. This will increase children’s interest in learning and they will be able to learn new things without pressure.
Children will get a new learning experience
Summer camp will not only be a medium of study for children, but will also be an opportunity to make new friends, increase self-confidence and participate in creative activities. This unique combination of education and entertainment during holidays will provide a new learning experience to children and will play an important role in strengthening their basic academic abilities.
