PM Modi expressed deep grief over the demise of Suman Kalyanpur!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences through social media platform X. Sharing a picture of himself with the singer, he wrote, “Deeply saddened to hear the demise of renowned singer Suman Kalyanpur. Her melodious voice and soulful singing enriched the Indian music and cultural world.”
The PM wrote, “He created a special place in the hearts of music lovers and fans of Indian cinema through his songs. My deepest condolences to his family, well-wishers and fans. May God rest his soul in peace. Om Shanti.”
Let us tell you that after his death at the age of 89, the last rites of Suman Kalyanpur will be performed in Mumbai on June 1.
Suman Kalyanpur was one of those singers in the Indian music world, who made the golden era of Indian cinema memorable with her singing. He immortalized many evergreen songs with his voice and established a special identity in the hearts of music lovers. The sweetness of her voice and the depth of her notes made her one of the most respected singers of Indian film music.
His popular songs include ‘Aajkal Tere Mere Pyar Ke Charche’, ‘Na Na Karte Pyaar Tumhein Se Kar Baithe’ and ‘Tumne Pukara Aur Hum Chale Aaye’. Suman Kalyanpur started his career with the Marathi film ‘Pasant Aahe Mulgi’. His first superhit Marathi song is considered to be ‘Bhatukalichya Khalmandila’.
Suman Kalyanpur sang more than 740 songs in Hindi, Marathi and other languages. Her voice was so melodious and similar to Lata Mangeshkar that at times the listeners got confused. He was honored with several awards by various institutions including the Government of Maharashtra.
