Tomorrow’s weather: The Meteorological Department has issued a storm alert for sporadic to heavy rain and thunderstorms in north-eastern India and southern peninsular areas this week. It is expected that during this period, strong winds with a speed of up to 70 kilometers per hour may blow in many areas of North-West, Central and adjoining Eastern India. There is also a possibility of heavy rain and hailstorm. The Meteorological Department has advised people to be cautious.
According to IMD, several weather systems are active simultaneously in different parts of the country, due to which activities like storm, rain, thunder and hailstorm are being seen. The Meteorological Department said that a western disturbance remains active at a height of 3.1 to 7.6 kilometers in north-west Uttar Pradesh and surrounding areas.
Rain alert in these states
Due to its effect, apart from the Himalayan states, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers with strong winds in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. The weather is active in Eastern India also. Due to the cyclonic circulation over South Ganga Basin, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha, there are chances of severe thunderstorms and rainfall in these states. In some areas the wind speed can reach 40 to 70 kilometers per hour, while at some places it can even reach 90 kilometers per hour.

According to the Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation also persists over Northeast India and Southern Assam. Due to its impact, heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. At the same time, due to the cyclonic circulation over south-eastern Madhya Pradesh, thunderstorm and rain activities can also be seen in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha regions.

When will monsoon reach Kerala?
The Meteorological Department says that the conditions for the advance of monsoon remain favorable and monsoon may reach Kerala in the next one or two days. Apart from this, a new western disturbance will affect north-west India from June 3. Due to its effect, there will once again be a possibility of thunderstorm, rain and hailstorm in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh between June 3 and 5.
