Sports News: RCB player banned as soon as he became champion, big action by BCCI!

game desk : The experience of the IPL 2026 final has proved to be very bitter for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star batsman Tim David. Tim David has been fined a hefty 50 percent of his match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during the title match played against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Along with this, he has also been banned for one match due to repeated mistakes.

Third mistake in the same season, total 5 demerit points
According to the report of the match referee and IPL Governing Council, Tim David broke the rules of the code of conduct during the final match, after which 2 new demerit points have been added to his account as punishment. This was Tim David’s third mistake in this entire season of IPL 2026. After this new action, his total number of demerit points has now increased to 5. According to IPL rules, if the player crosses this figure of demerit points, he is automatically banned for one match.

Tim David will not be able to play the first match of IPL 2027
Due to this strict ban, Tim David and Royal Challengers Bangalore have faced a big setback in the future. Since this punishment was given in the last match (final) of the season, the effect of this ban will be seen next year. Tim David will now not be able to play the first match of the upcoming IPL season (IPL 2027). RCB will have to take the field without this aggressive finisher in their opening match next year.
