Injured criminal in Muzaffarnagar encounter asked for cigarette, video of police encounter goes viral

Criminal asked for cigarette: There was an encounter between the police and a vicious criminal in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh late on Sunday evening. Police station Ramraj was conducting suspicious vehicle checking operation near Jamalpur canal track in the area. Meanwhile, a young man riding a bike reached there. The police signaled him to stop, but seeing himself surrounded, he started firing at the police team.

There was chaos in the area after the sudden firing. The police also retaliated in self-defence, in which the accused was shot in the leg and he got injured and fell down. After this the police took him into custody and sent him to the hospital for treatment.

More than a dozen criminal cases are registered against the accused

During police interrogation, the accused has been identified as Inam. According to officials, more than a dozen criminal cases including robbery, theft, Gangster Act are registered against him. Police have also recovered a suspicious bike, a pistol and cartridges from the spot.

Giving information about the case, CO Jansath said that the accused had fired at the police, in response to which he was injured. At present the accused is undergoing treatment and the police is also investigating other aspects related to his criminal network.
