What The Jeep SUV Built On Sierra’s ARGOS Platform Will Look Like

Stellantis Group recently, in their 2026 Investor Day meeting, spoke about their plans to launch a new SUV in the Indian market. They also confirmed that the upcoming SUV from Jeep will use a Tata Motors platform. Jeep has not launched any new products in India for a very long time, and this move comes as a part of their new strategy. We know that the upcoming SUV from Jeep is going to use Tata’s ARGOS platform. While there is no clarity on how the SUV would look, we have come across a render image created using AI that shows how the upcoming Jeep SUV might look.

As mentioned above, the upcoming Jeep SUV will be using Tata’s ARGOS platform. ARGOS stands for All-Terrain Ready, Omni-Energy, and Geometry Scalable. This is a new platform that debuted with the Sierra last year. The render image seen here in the video actually uses design elements from both Jeep and the Tata Sierra to create a new vehicle. It should be noted that this is a digital render, and the actual product might end up looking completely different.

The design of the Jeep SUV looks like any modern-day SUV from the brand. It gets the signature seven-slat grille at the front with chrome surrounds around it. The headlamp units on this SUV are sleek and similar to what we have seen on the Jeep Compass Electric. One of the differentiating factors here is the 7-shaped drop-down LED DRLs. The DRLs meet the projector LED fog lamps on the bumper.

The bumper looks rugged and almost upright in the picture here. The render uses a bumper design similar to what is seen on other Jeep SUVs. Coming to the side, we see the Tata Sierra resemblance. The render takes the Alpine window-inspired design element from the new Sierra and uses it in the picture here. Surprisingly, it actually goes well with the overall design, and it looks like a stretched version of the Jeep Compass or the Meridian, which is already available here.

We get the usual squared wheel arches with cladding, dual-tone alloy wheels with thick-profile tyres, and so on. We also see the door handles, which look like flush-fitted units. The rear of the SUV is also going to get a squared or boxy design like the rest of the SUV. We expect to see smoked clear-lens LED tail lamps, a shark-fin antenna, integrated spoilers, a muscular-looking rear bumper, and so on.

next jeep suv to use tata sierra platform

Jeep will be utilising the new platform from Tata, and by doing so, they will be saving billions in research and development. The SUV will be manufactured here in India and will be sold here as well as in international markets. It remains to be seen whether Jeep will only utilise the platform or whether they will borrow any design elements from the Sierra, as seen here in the render image. That would also help Jeep save a lot of costs and allow them to price the product competitively.

The Jeep SUV will come with a premium-looking cabin like the existing Jeep models. It is expected to come with leatherette upholstery, seat ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, electric seats, a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver display, multi-zone climate control, and so on.

Unlike the Sierra, Jeep will ensure that the SUV is launched in the market with an AWD or 4×4 variant. This is possible because the ARGOS platform is designed to accommodate it. Tata had promised that the Sierra will also get AWD in the future.

The upcoming Jeep might come with both petrol and diesel engine options. Apart from the platform, Jeep may also use the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine from Tata. The older 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine was discontinued as it could not be updated to meet the BS6 norms. The 2.0-litre diesel engine is unlikely to be offered. Instead, they might offer a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine.

The upcoming Jeep is expected to be launched by 2028 and will be exported to 50 countries across the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, Africa, and South America.
