A new plan is ready regarding the huge crowd in Chardham Yatra, now devotees will be stopped at these places; Know the whole system
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a big decision regarding Chardham Yatra. During a high-level meeting held at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the Chief Minister clearly said that the basic mantra of Chardham Yatra management should be only three things – ‘Safe Yatra, Easy Darshan and Continuous Dialogue’. He warned the officials that there will be no compromise with the safety of the devotees. For this, now there has been a complete ban on the movement of vehicles on the travel routes from 10 pm to 4 am and orders have been given to strictly follow it.
New SOP will be made for huge crowd, these special facilities will be available in the holding area
In view of the huge crowd of devotees gathering at the four Dhams, the Chief Minister has given instructions to prepare a detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). He said that crowd management should be done in a completely scientific and phased manner. If more people reach any Dham or stop than the capacity, then the vehicles will be stopped only at the holding area below and at the major check points.
The Chief Minister said in a strict tone that there should be no dearth of basic facilities like parking, food, pure drinking water and toilets for the passengers at the places where they are being stopped. Also, passengers should not only be stopped but should also be politely told why they have been stopped and how much time it will take to proceed further. All police and administration employees have been instructed to behave very sensitively and cooperatively with the passengers.
There will be no shortage of information, you will get updates from moment to moment.
The Chief Minister believes that the information system will be greatly strengthened so that passengers do not face any kind of confusion or trouble on the way. Now, latest information will be provided continuously on the travel routes through public information system, large LED displays, social media platforms, WhatsApp channel and FM radio. If there is a landslide somewhere on the way, the weather changes, or there is a traffic jam, this information will be immediately conveyed to the passengers so that they can change their plans.
Be fully alert for the challenge of the second phase of monsoon
CM Dhami said that the first phase of Chardham Yatra has been very successful due to the coordination of all the departments. But now the journey is entering the second and most challenging phase, where monsoon and bad weather are going to be the biggest hurdles. In such a situation, disaster management will have to be more alert.
To deal with emergency situations, the Chief Minister has already ordered to deploy JCBs, Pokeland machines, satellite phones, ambulances and relief equipment on sensitive roads. All senior officers have been asked to remain in the field themselves and take stock of the arrangements.
There will be a ban on arbitrariness of hotels and dhabas, it will be mandatory to post rate list
The Chief Minister has also taken a big step to stop robbery and looting of pilgrims during the Chardham Yatra. He has made it mandatory to post rate lists in all the hotels, restaurants and dhabas built on the travel routes. Along with this, instructions have been given for regular sampling and testing of food items to prevent adulterated food. Garhwal Commissioner and IG Garhwal have been entrusted with the responsibility of regularly reviewing the entire system.
Special emphasis on cleanliness and heli ambulance will be provided for serious patients.
The Chief Minister laid special emphasis on the fact that cleanliness should be number one at the four Dhams and walking paths. Adequate toilets and their frequent cleaning will be ensured on walking routes. Adequate number of sheds will be built at various places to protect the devotees walking on Kedarnath walking route from sun and rain. Apart from this, Heli Ambulance service is being started to provide immediate treatment to any serious patient, for which a nodal officer will be deployed at the state level so that if necessary, the patient can be taken to a big hospital by immediately coordinating with the District Magistrates.
In this important meeting, Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan and many MLAs, Secretaries and District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police were also connected through video conferencing.
