According to CBSE official sources, it was a ‘Denial of Service’ (DoS) attack, the main objective of which was to completely disrupt online services by taking down the servers.

1.5 million hits in just 120 seconds

In a very vicious manner, cyber attackers sent more than 15 lakh (1.5 million) hits on the portal within just 2 minutes. Apart from this, more than 1 lakh attempts were also made to breach the security of the system and make unauthorized file access. The purpose of this sudden increase in artificial traffic was to crash the website so that students could not submit their forms for revaluation.

The system is secure, more than 16 thousand applications submitted

Despite this major hacking attempt, CBSE’s security system proved to be strong. Currently more than 8,000 users (Concurrent Users) are active on this portal at the same time. The board informed that till 3:00 pm today, more than 16,000 students have successfully submitted their applications without any hassle.

CBSE took big steps for the convenience of students

Taking seriously the feedback received from students, CBSE Board has made several important improvements in the digital platform.
