Good news for sugarcane farmers in UP, government gave a big gift!

Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has prepared to implement a new and technical system in the interest of sugarcane farmers. Now the process of issuing sugarcane slips in the state will be done through GPS based survey. The aim of this step is to make the system transparent and protect farmers from any kind of irregularity.

Sugarcane slip will be prepared through GPS survey

Under the new crushing season, farmers will now get sugarcane slips only on the basis of GPS survey. In this, all the important information like crop sown in the field, variety of sugarcane and area will be recorded. This system will increase transparency between mills and farmers and reduce the possibility of inaccurate data.

Survey going on rapidly across the state

The sugarcane department is conducting GPS based survey work in the entire Uttar Pradesh. So far, about 42 percent of the survey has been completed and a target has been set to complete it by June 30. After completion of the survey, all the data will be uploaded online by the sugar mills on the departmental website.

Farmers will get information through SMS

During the survey, farmers are being given information about the entire process through mobile SMS. In this, information about when the field survey will take place is sent in advance so that the farmers are present at their fields on time. After completion of the survey, farm information and crop details will also be made available to the farmers through SMS.

Technical team will conduct survey

The survey team consists of a government cane supervisor and a representative of the sugar mill. Both of them together go to the fields and collect data through GPS and upload it directly to the departmental server. This greatly reduces the possibility of any error in the data.

Registration of new farmers also continues

The sugarcane department has also clarified that along with the survey, registration of new farmers is also being done. Its objective is to involve more and more farmers in the crushing season. The government has also decided that only registered farmers will be able to avail the benefits of sugarcane supply till 30 September 2026.

Online Verification Facility

For the convenience of farmers, the government has made verification of their land available online. Now farmers can easily check their farm records by visiting the website of the Revenue Department. With this new system, farmers will not have to visit the mills and the slip system will become more transparent. Also, proper assessment of the crop will increase the chances of farmers getting proper profit from their produce.
