West Bengal Cabinet Expansion News Marathi: In West Bengal The Suvendu cabinet was expanded today (June 1, 2026), almost a month after the formation of the new government. On this occasion, 35 ministers took the oath of office in Lok Bhavan. Former Indian cricket team fast bowler and cricketer-politician Ashok Dinda was elected MLA from Moyna constituency.

The Trinamool Congress’ 15-year rule came to an end after the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) landslide victory in last month’s assembly elections. On May 9, Suvendu Adhikari was sworn in as Chief Minister. On the same day Dilip Ghosh, Nishith Pramanik, Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Kirtania and K. Tudu, five ministers also took oath. Today’s expansion takes the number of ministers in the Suvendu Cabinet to 41. Also Gauri Shankar and Ajay Poddar have also become ministers. Also Swapan Dasgupta, Arjun Singh, Deepak Burman, Tapas Roy, Jagannath Chatterjee, Manoj Kumar Oram, Gauri Shankar Ghosh and Ajay Poddar were all appointed as Cabinet Ministers. Former cricketers Ashok Dinda, Jewel Murmu, Harikrishna Bera, Shantanu Pramanik, Umesh Roy, Poornima Chakraborty, Bhaskar Bhattacharya, Kalita Maji, Biraj Biswas, Anandmay Burman, Vishal Lama and Dipankar Jana were appointed as Ministers of State. Malati Rava Rai, Rajesh Mahato and Indranil Khan were appointed as Ministers of State with independent charge.
