CBSE’s re-evaluation portal continued to operate even amid cyber attacks, more than 16 thousand students applied
New Delhi: Recently, news of a major cyber attack has come to light on the re-evaluation portal of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). According to the board, some anti-social elements tried to disrupt the portal so that students face problems in the application process. However, CBSE’s technical team handled the situation and the portal continued to function.
What is the conspiracy behind the attack?
CBSE said that this attack was of ‘Denial of Service’ (DoS) type. In such attacks, a large amount of traffic is suddenly sent to a website or server, due to which its services may be affected. According to the board, within just two minutes about 15 lakh hits were recorded on the portal. Apart from this, more than one lakh attempts were also made to enter the system in an unauthorized manner and access the files.
How many students applied?
The special thing during this time was that despite such a big cyber attack, the portal was not completely closed. CBSE informed that till 3 pm on Tuesday, more than 16 thousand students had successfully submitted their applications. The board says that at present the portal is capable of handling more than 8,000 students at a time, due to which students do not face any major dilemma in applying.
Feedback received from students
The board also said that based on the suggestions and feedback received from the students, many technical improvements have been made in the portal. Along with this, to make the application process easier, the session time limit has been increased, so that students do not have to face haste while filling the form. CBSE has assured that the convenience and safety of the students is their priority. The technical and support team of the board is continuously monitoring this matter, so that any problem can be resolved immediately.
