Da Nang has claimed top spot among Vietnam’s most searched summer destinations, data from Dutch travel agency Booking.com shows.

Nha Trang was in second place and followed by Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, and Hoi An for stays between June 1 and Aug. 31.

Rounding out the top 10 were Hanoi, Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, Quy Nhon, and Ha Long, highlighting the continued popularity of coastal destinations during the summer season.

Da Nang has maintained strong tourism momentum this year, receiving an estimated 7.74 million visitors in the first five months, up 20.9% year-on-year.

It is hosting the annual Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, which began on May 30 and will run through July 11.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese travelers’ searches were dominated by Asian destinations, which accounted for nine of the top 10 positions.

Bangkok emerged as the most searched, followed by Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur, reflecting continued demand for short-haul travel.
