Anti encroachment drive started to stop encroachment on forest land under Balodabazar forest division
Balodabajar . As per the instructions of Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, a special “Anti Encroachment Drive” is being conducted from June 1 for the purpose of identification, prevention and control of encroachment on forest land under Balodabazar Forest Division.
In this campaign, which will be conducted till June 15, keeping in view the possibilities of encroachment on the forest land before the start of the rainy season, inter-regional joint inspection teams have been formed at the forest level, which will visit different forest areas and examine the condition of the forest land.
During the campaign, the inspection teams formed will conduct site inspections of forest boundaries, forest blocks and beat areas and will especially examine those cells and areas whose boundaries are adjacent to villages or agricultural lands. During the inspection, forest boundaries, condition of towers, possible encroachment on forest land, illegal felling, illegal excavation and other activities will be evaluated.
Under the campaign, officers from various zones have been nominated for inspection in other zones, so that fair and effective evaluation can be ensured. During the inspection, necessary records, maps, room history and other documents will be made available by the concerned areas and beat wise information will be examined.
During the inspection, various points including human activities in the forest areas, animal pressure, condition of weeds, status of forest rights recognition letters and their verification will also be evaluated. Besides, necessary suggestions will also be compiled to make forest protection more effective.
Divisional Forest Officer Dhammasheel Ganveer has said that protection of forest land and natural resources is one of the top priorities of the Forest Department. He said that through this special campaign, continuous monitoring of forest areas will be ensured and prompt action will be taken as per rules against any kind of new encroachment or illegal activities. He has given necessary instructions to all the officers and employees for effective implementation of the campaign.
