NAB Vietnam Virtual Race inspires the tech community
After nearly a month of joining the race, Trang Ngo, a Data Analyst at NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam, has completed close to 100 km. Yet for him, this is not the most meaningful achievement. The real value lies in building a sustainable habit, one that supports better health, improved work performance, and meaningful contributions to the community.
Over recent weeks, thanks to the race hosted on the vRace platform, Trang and many of his colleagues have maintained more consistent training routines. This represents more than just a physical shift, it reflects a change in daily habits, particularly important in a tech environment where long hours at a screen and tight deadlines are common.
“Never give up, trust the process, and even if you go slowly, keep moving toward the finish line,” Trang said when describing himself as a runner.

Growing up in Nha Trang, Trang has long had a passion for sport. A running watch gifted by a friend four years ago marked the start of his journey into endurance sports, from marathons to Ironman 70.3, and now the NAB Vietnam Virtual Race.
In his role, Trang describes himself as someone who “talks to data”, analyzing and solving problems to better support customers. He sees clear parallels between running and his work.
“There are times when things are tough and you feel like you can’t go on. But as long as you keep going and refuse to give up, results will come. That applies both at work and on the running track,” he said.
Trang’s story is not unique at the NAB Vietnam Virtual Race. After more than a month since launch, the race has attracted over 10,000 participants in Vietnam and abroad, with a collective distance of nearly 250,000 kilometers. Many technology engineers, data specialists, and office professionals alike now embrace the initiative as a way to build healthier routines, connect with colleagues, and contribute to the community.
Beyond promoting physical wellbeing, the race is also designed to create broader community impact.
A representative from NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam shared that with over 250,000 kilometers recorded, the organization will contribute VND1 billion (US$34,000) to its CSR fund. This funding will support innovation initiatives in the IT sector and provide opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue careers in technology.
Minh Le, 34, shared that he rarely ran before joining the program. Encouraged by colleagues and the race’s community purpose, he gradually changed his routine.
“It started with 30 minutes, then increased to an hour or more. After just over a month, running after work has become part of my daily life,” he said.
According to Minh, the value of the race goes beyond fitness. In a fast-paced tech environment, often defined by pressure and constant change, group runs with colleagues provide moments to reset and reconnect.
For Trang, NAB’s flexible working environment has been key to maintaining both work and training.
“Sport helps me stay positive and energized, and ready to perform better at work. It also means a lot knowing that every kilometer I run contributes to NAB’s CSR initiatives. It makes the effort truly meaningful,” he said.
