DK Shivakumar Takes Oath As New Chief Minister Of Karnataka: DK Shivakumar becomes the new Chief Minister of Karnataka, Governor administered the oath, G. Parmeshwar Deputy CM
New Delhi. DK Shivakumar has become the new Chief Minister of Karnataka. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot administered him the oath of office and secrecy. Shivkumar took oath as Chief Minister with the Constitution book in his hand. 13 other MLAs also took oath as ministers. He was the Home Minister of the state in the Siddaramaiah government. Parameshwara has been sworn in as Deputy CM. Former CM Siddaramaiah’s son Yatindra has also been included in the Shivakumar cabinet. Many senior Congress leaders including Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, MP Rahul Gandhi, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, Siddaramaiah were present in this swearing-in ceremony.

Priyank Kharge, son of Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, has also taken oath as a minister. Whereas 78 year old K. coming from SC community. H. Muniyappa has also been included in the cabinet. Muniyappa has been a seven-time MP from Kolar Lok Sabha seat in Karnataka. He has become MLA for the first time.

Maintaining caste equation, MLAs from different castes have been included in the cabinet of the new government of Karnataka. Three MLAs each from Lingayat, Vokkaliga and Dalit quota have been made ministers. Two MLAs from the Kuruba community have been given a place in the cabinet. Apart from this, one MLA each from Scheduled Tribe, Muslim and Christian community has been administered the oath of office as minister. Before taking oath, DK Shivakumar touched his mother’s feet and took her blessings. Religious rituals were also organized in his house.
