This decision is being considered very important in political circles, because it has come at a time when reports of dissatisfaction and internal tussle are emerging within the party. In recent days, several reports had claimed that some MLAs of the party are angry with the current leadership and are demanding changes within the organization.
Meanwhile, such reports have also emerged that the number of disgruntled MLAs supporting expelled MLA Ritabrata Banerjee from the party is increasing. According to reports, around 58 disgruntled TMC MLAs have supported making him the leader of the assembly party.
It is being told that these MLAs have also informed about their decision to West Bengal Assembly Speaker Rathindra Bose on Wednesday. However, there has been no official response from the party yet on this claim.
Political analysts believe that the decision to dissolve all the committees could be part of a strategy to maintain discipline in the organization, evaluate the performance and refocus the party in view of the upcoming political challenges.
Trinamool Congress has not yet clarified when the new organizational structure will be announced. However, the party’s statement indicated that the restructuring process would be comprehensive and would involve a review of the functioning of the organization at various levels.
This decision is being considered an important development in the politics of West Bengal. In the coming days, it will become clear whether the organizational restructuring is just a part of the regular review process or a larger political strategy to deal with the alleged discontent and rebellious voices emerging within the party.
