BJP’s preparations intensify for Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand, who will become the candidate?
Ranchi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its activities regarding the elections to be held for a Rajya Sabha seat in Jharkhand. Let us tell you, the party has already decided to field a candidate and now the process of finalizing the name of the candidate is going on. It is believed that BJP may announce the name of its candidate on Thursday.
There will be churning in Delhi
According to sources, many senior BJP leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah are continuously discussing the selection of Rajya Sabha candidate in New Delhi. Along with this, a detailed list of possible names was sent by BJP to the central leadership. According to the information, names of about 13 leaders were included in this list, out of which now three names have been selected for the final phase.
Who are those three names?
It is being told that in the meeting held with BJP National Organization General Secretary BL Santosh, State President Aditya Sahu and Organization Minister Karmaveer Singh have agreed on these three names. During this time, the name of current Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash is also in discussion among the possible candidates, whose tenure is about to end. Apart from this, the names of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda and former Ranchi Mayor Asha Lakra are also in discussion.
In whose hands is the final decision
However, the final decision is in the hands of the central leadership. There is also discussion in political circles that apart from the names sent by the state unit, the top leadership of BJP can also field some other face. In such a situation, everyone’s eyes are fixed on the decision to be taken in Delhi.

Meanwhile, State BJP President Aditya Sahu has clarified that the party will not field any industrialist or person with outside influence as its candidate. He said that BJP sticks to the tradition of giving respect to its dedicated workers and only a hardworking party worker will be given the responsibility for Rajya Sabha also.
