Bihar government’s announcement: great news for middle class families

Patna. Bihar government has expanded the scope of health facilities, giving great relief to the middle class and low income group families. Taking an important decision in the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, approval was given to increase the annual income limit for the Chief Minister Medical Assistance Scheme.

According to the new decision of the government, now families with annual income up to Rs 4 lakh will also be eligible for the medical assistance scheme. Earlier, the benefit of this scheme was available only to those families whose annual income was up to Rs 2.50 lakh. Due to the increase in the income limit, a large number of families who were till now out of eligibility will come under the ambit of the scheme.

Middle class families will get direct benefits

There are a large number of families in Bihar who are not completely financially capable, but due to their income being slightly more than the prescribed limit, they were not able to avail the benefits of government health assistance schemes. After the implementation of the new system, such middle class families will be able to get financial help for the treatment of serious diseases.

Help will be provided in the treatment of serious diseases

The objective of Chief Minister Medical Assistance Fund is to provide financial assistance for treatment to economically weaker patients. Under this scheme, assistance is provided in the treatment of various serious diseases. The government believes that by increasing the eligibility limit, more patients will be able to get timely treatment.

Lakhs of families can get benefits

After increasing the income limit from Rs 2.50 lakh to Rs 4 lakh, lakhs of families in the state are likely to be covered under this scheme. This will also provide relief to those people who manage their family expenses on limited income and find it difficult to bear the cost of treatment in case of serious illness.

Steps to strengthen health security

The government says that this decision is a step taken towards making health services more inclusive. Its objective is to ensure that no patient is deprived of treatment due to financial reasons. By increasing the income limit, the benefits of health schemes will reach a larger section of the society.
