Delhi Hotel Fire Tragedy 25 Rooms Were Being Operated With Permission For 6 Rooms

Shocking facts have come to light after the massive fire incident in the hotel located in Malviya Nagar, South Delhi. At least 21 people have died in this accident so far, while more than 40 people have been evacuated safely. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the hotel where the fire broke out had received permission to operate only six rooms under the Bed and Breakfast (B&B) scheme of the Delhi government, but reportedly 25 rooms were being operated there.

According to sources, the hotel was registered under the B&B scheme. According to the rules of this scheme, any registered establishment is allowed to operate a maximum of eight rooms and 16 beds. In such a situation, the allegation of operating 25 rooms has raised serious questions regarding the legality, regulatory compliance and safety standards of the hotel.

Initial reports after the incident identified the establishment as the “Lemon Green Inn.” However, later the Delhi government clarified that the building where the fire broke out is actually a hotel named “Flourish Stay” located in Hauz Rani area of ​​Malviya Nagar.

Responding to the matter, local MLA Satish Upadhyay did not confirm the alleged irregularities, but said that the entire matter will be investigated and action will be taken based on whatever facts emerge.

Delhi Police has also confirmed investigation against the hotel owner. Officials say that this investigation will not be limited only to the cause of the fire, but will also see whether safety and license related rules were followed during the operation of the hotel or not.

The fire was reported at 8:48 am on Wednesday. This hotel is located in a busy area near Max Hospital, Saket. As soon as the fire broke out, there was chaos in the entire area and a large number of people got trapped inside the building.

The fire department took immediate action and sent eight fire tenders to the spot. Firefighters and rescue teams entered the smoke-filled building and conducted a large-scale rescue operation. During this period, more than 40 people were evacuated safely.

The exact cause of the fire is not yet clear, but eyewitnesses have expressed apprehension that short circuit could be the reason for this accident. However, officials have said that the actual cause of the fire will be confirmed only after the technical investigation is completed.

During the accident, two women were also seen jumping from the building to save their lives. He took this step to avoid fire and dense smoke. Many injured have been admitted to Max Hospital and AIIMS Trauma Center in Saket.

According to AIIMS officials, 13 injured patients have been admitted. These include three people who have been seriously injured due to falling from height and their condition remains critical.

At present the administration, police and fire department are jointly investigating the matter. After the huge loss of life in the accident, a thorough investigation is being done into the hotel’s construction permission, license, fire safety arrangements and alleged rule violations. After the investigation report comes, the possibility of action being taken against those responsible is being expressed.
