Big decision of UP government: Good news for these lawyers
Lucknow. Taking a big decision for the government lawyers of the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved a significant increase in their honorarium and debate fees. This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This decision has brought great relief to the law officers and government advocates who have been demanding increase in honorarium for a long time.
The government says that in view of rising inflation and responsibilities of judicial work, the rates of fees and retainership have been revised. After the implementation of the new system, government lawyers working at various levels in the state will get more financial benefits than before.
Biggest benefit to district government lawyers
As per the cabinet decision, there has been a significant increase in the monthly retainership of district government advocates. Along with this, the daily fees received for arguments in the court and other judicial works have also been increased. This will directly increase the income of advocates working at the district level.
Major amendments at a glance
The retainership of District Government Advocate was increased from Rs 9 thousand to Rs 14 thousand.
The daily fee was increased from Rs 1,650 to Rs 2,500.
The retainership of Additional District Government Advocate was increased from Rs 7,200 to Rs 11,000.
The retainership of Assistant District Government Advocate was increased from Rs 6,300 to Rs 10,000.
The retainership of Deputy District Government Advocate was increased from Rs 5,400 to Rs 9,000.
The monthly retainership of the Advocate General was increased from Rs 75 thousand to Rs 1.25 lakh.
Advocate General’s argument fee was increased from Rs 40 thousand to Rs 60 thousand.
The retainership of Chief Standing Advocate was increased from Rs 22 thousand to Rs 35 thousand.

The government believes that the increase in honorarium will boost the morale of government lawyers and they will be able to represent the state in the courts more effectively. This decision is being considered an important step towards strengthening the judicial system and improving the quality of legal services. Thousands of government advocates and law officers working across the state are expected to get direct benefits from this decision of the Yogi government.
