Split In Mamata Banerjee’s Party TMC: Shock to Mamata Banerjee, TMC divided into two groups, Ritabrata Banerjee of rebel group becomes Leader of Opposition in Bengal Assembly.

New Delhi. Former Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee has suffered a big shock. There is a split in his party Trinamool Congress and the party is divided into two factions. MLA Ritabrata Banerjee, who was expelled from TMC, has become the Leader of Opposition in the Bengal Assembly. The Speaker of the Assembly has approved his appointment. Earlier, 59 rebel TMC MLAs under the leadership of Ritabrata Banerjee had met Assembly Speaker Ratindra Bose and submitted a letter of support to him. The rebel MLAs of TMC have met the Governor and asked to make Ritabrata Banerjee the leader of the legislative party, Javed Khan, Sandipan Saha and Shiuli Saha as the deputy leaders of the party in the assembly and Akhruzzaman as the party chief whip.

Actually, Mamata Banerjee had made Shobhandeb Chattopadhyay the leader of opposition in the assembly. After this decision of Mamta, the rebellion in TMC came out openly. 60 out of 80 TMC MLAs refused to accept Shobhandeb Chattopadhyay as the Leader of Opposition. Then 59 MLAs under the leadership of Ritabrata Banerjee met Speaker Ratindra Bose. He said that we are the real faction of TMC and requested that Ritabrata Banerjee be recognized as the Leader of Opposition. Seeing the support of the MLAs, the Assembly Speaker has recognized Ritabrata Banerjee as the Leader of Opposition.

Let us tell you that just two days ago, Mamata Banerjee had expelled MLA Ritabrata Banerjee and Sandipan Saha from TMC. Let us tell you that after the defeat in the West Bengal Assembly elections, talks of infighting among the leaders in TMC were coming to the fore. It has been claimed many times in media reports that many TMC MLAs are ready to leave the party. Now TMC leaders have come out openly against Mamata Banerjee.
