A very big and important step has been taken towards speedy disposal of the cases pending in the judiciary and courts of the country. The Supreme Court Collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant, has recommended 10 new names to the Central Government to fill the vacant seats of judges in the High Courts of three major states of the country – Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The list, finalized by the collegium after rigorous evaluation and personal interview of the candidates, includes the names of experienced advocates (vakils) and judicial officers. After this important meeting, this entire list has now reached the Union Ministry of Law and Justice for final approval.
Meeting held under the leadership of CJI Surya Kant, know who were involved
A very high-profile meeting was held in the country’s Supreme Court on Tuesday regarding the appointment of High Court judges. Apart from the Chief Justice of the country (CJI) Surya Kant, two other senior judges of the Supreme Court, Justice Vikram Nath and Justice JK Maheshwari were also included in this collegium. The three members of the collegium have given their final consent on these 10 names only after thorough deliberations and completing the process of interviews of all the eligible candidates. Now after the green signal of the Central Government and the official signature of His Excellency the President, the notification for permanent appointment of all these judges will be issued.
Karnataka got maximum 6 judges, see complete list of all three states
In this new list prepared by the Supreme Court Collegium, the South Indian state of Karnataka has been given the highest priority. The names recommended for the three states are as follows:

Karnataka High Court: Maximum six names have been recommended in this list. These include the names of Raghavendra Sitaram Srivatsa, Hema Kulkarni, Subramanya Rangarao, Tadagawadi Prakash Vivekananda, Bakkeshwar Pramod and Hombe Gowda Shanti Bhushan.

Himachal Pradesh High Court: For the hill state of Himachal Pradesh, the collegium has put forward three capable names, which include the names of Chirag Bhanu Singh, Bhupesh Sharma and Yogesh Jaswal.

Madhya Pradesh High Court: At present only one name has been recommended for this High Court, in which the name of prominent advocate Amit Lahoti is included.
Justice Meenakshi Madan Rai becomes the new Chief Justice of Patna High Court
Amidst this major reshuffle, official information about another very important and historic appointment has been given by the Law Ministry. Justice Meenakshi Madan Roy, a senior judge of the Sikkim High Court, has been appointed as the new Chief Justice of the Patna High Court of Bihar. Let us tell you that the name of Justice Meenakshi Madan Roy has a glorious history, she was the first woman from the state of Sikkim who had the honor of being appointed as a judge in the Sikkim High Court. The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended his name on May 22, which has now been approved by the Centre.
Will take charge from June 4, will replace Sangam Kumar Sahu
Justice Meenakshi Madan Rai, who is going to take charge of the new command of Patna High Court, will assume her new charge on June 4. She will replace the current Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Sangam Kumar Sahu, who is retiring today i.e. on June 3 after completing his tenure. Legal experts believe that these new appointments will increase the number of judges in the High Courts of various states.
