This T-shirt had the image of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. As soon as the video went viral, some people called it insulting. Many users also said that Ritesh was drunk. On this, Ritesh presented his clarification on Instagram.
Ritesh wrote, ‘To celebrate the unprecedented response from the audience, the entire team had organized a small celebration. A video of that celebration is going viral on social media. As a true devotee of Shivaji Maharaj and a member of a family that respects its audience, I feel it necessary to clarify this.
He further said, ‘I want to make it clear that I had no intention of insulting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by celebrating by wearing a T-shirt with his picture. This T-shirt was being used during the promotion of the film. That day, after finishing the promotion work, I went straight to the party, so I did not get a chance to change my T-shirt.
Rumors of drinking alcohol refuted
Ritesh rejected the allegations of alcohol
Ritesh also gave a clear answer to the rumors of drinking alcohol. He said, ‘Regarding the claims being made about me on social media, I also want to clarify that I have never drank alcohol in my entire life and will never drink in the future. Therefore such allegations are completely wrong and baseless.
He also said that the video was made by an unauthorized person who was not invited to the party. Riteish Deshmukh has always expressed his loyalty towards Maratha history and Shivaji Maharaj. His film ‘Raja Shivaji’ has also been made keeping this honor in mind. After this controversy, he has also apologized to his fans and Shiva devotees. Although Ritesh seems happy due to the success of the film, this short video created unwanted controversy.
