Just before the beginning of the holy month of Sawan and the arrival of monsoon, a very big and auspicious good news has come for Shiva devotees across the country. The doors of ‘Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga’, the sixth Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva, situated amidst the dense forests of the Sahyadri mountain range in Pune district of Maharashtra, are being fully opened for the devotees from June 15. Preparations have been finalized at the diplomatic and administrative level. For some time, the entry of devotees was limited due to the ongoing repair and security works in the temple premises, but now the wait of the devotees for the divine darshan of Baba is going to end completely. Religious importance of Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga and its supernatural glory: The place of Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga in Hindu religion and Puranas is considered very high and important. The credibility of this temple, which is ranked sixth among the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is deep among crores of devotees in the country and abroad. It is believed that any devotee who visits this holy Jyotirling situated at the origin of river Bhima with a true heart, all the troubles, sins and diseases of his life end forever. The natural beauty of the Sahyadri mountains and the calm spiritual atmosphere here take the devotees to a different world, where upon reaching, the mind feels immense peace. These new diplomatic guidelines for darshan will be implemented from June 15. The temple trust and the local administration have made some strict rules for crowd control after the Corona period and in view of the upcoming festival season. From June 15, all the devotees who come to have darshan of Baba Bhimashankar will have to strictly follow the queue management system. According to the temple administration, separate special queues have been arranged for the elderly, disabled and small children so that they do not have to face any kind of inconvenience. Along with this, there will be a complete ban on the use of plastic to maintain cleanliness within the temple premises and to prevent damage to the concrete structure. What is the complete process of online pass and VIP ticket booking? If you are also planning to attend Baba Bhimashankar’s court on or after June 15, then to avoid long lines, you can book your online pass in advance by visiting the official website of the temple trust. The administration has reactivated the online diplomatic tickets booking window for general darshan as well as accessible darshan. E-pass holders will be given a fixed time slot to enter the temple, so that they will be able to reach in front of the sanctum sanctorum of Mahadev and take blessings in a very short time without any hassle. How to reach Bhimashankar from Pune and what precautions to take during the journey? Pune city of Maharashtra is the largest and main center to reach Bhimashankar. The distance from Pune Railway Station and Airport to Bhimashankar is approximately 110 kilometers, which you can easily cover in 3 to 4 hours by state transport buses (MSRTC) or private taxis. As the first monsoon rains begin on these hilly roads of the Western Ghats in the month of June, the roads become quite winding and slippery. Devotees are advised to complete their journey in daylight only, carry essential medicines and umbrella with them and keep an eye on the latest guidelines of the local meteorological department.
