TCS Nashik case: Woman made allegations of conversion and sexual exploitation, big revelations in SIT chargesheet

A 23-year-old female employee working in the BPO unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Nashik city told the investigation team that her colleagues repeatedly pressured her to convert to Islam. For this he asked him to listen and watch videos and speeches of Pakistani preacher Tariq Jameel and controversial speaker Zakir Naik. This information has come out in the charge sheet of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Maharashtra government. This whole matter is quite serious. Many women employees had accused their colleagues of sexual exploitation, molestation, mental harassment and religious pressure. After this, the government formed a special investigation team, which is now thoroughly investigating the entire matter.

Scam of marriage and pressure to change religion

According to the SIT charge sheet, a case has been registered against Danish Shaikh, Tausif Attar and Nida Khan at Deolali Camp Police Station. The complainant woman said that married Danish Shaikh sexually exploited her by promising her marriage. At the same time he wanted to take her away from the customs and traditions of Hindu religion. The woman told investigators that Danish Shaikh had told her, ‘Don’t be afraid, trust me. Allah is with us. Stop listening to God’s hymns, stop going to the temple also. This will reduce your stress. Apart from this, Sheikh also advised him to read Tasbeeh and do Islamic prayers, so that his worries and stress can be relieved.

Pakistani scholar’s advice to watch video

The woman further said that Danish Sheikh had asked her colleagues Tausif Attar and Nida Khan to get information about the religion of Islam. Tausif Attar instructed him to search and listen to the videos of Zakir Naik and Pakistani scholar Dr. Israr Ahmed on YouTube. Gradually he was told about Islamic concepts like Jannat, Jahannum, Qurbani, Bakri Eid and the water of Zamzam. The complainant said, ‘I was assured that if I convert to Islam, my mental stress will be completely eliminated. Gradually I started believing in these things.

It is also mentioned in the charge sheet that Danish Sheikh had information about the woman’s bank account and UPI PIN. He also kept track of how much money was in his account. As the SIT investigation progressed, many more names came to light. The first chargesheet contains statements of 106 witnesses, including the complainant, his mother, other TCS employees, members of the company’s POSH committee and the investigating officer. Later the scope of investigation was expanded and a second charge sheet was filed on the basis of eight FIRs of Mumbai Naka Police Station. The main accused in the total nine cases include Danish Sheikh, Tausif Attar, Nida Khan, Raza Memon, Shahrukh Qureshi, Shafi Sheikh, Asif Aftab Ansari and Ashwini Ashok Chainani. All of them are currently in jail.

What is the allegation against Nida Khan?

Nida Khan is especially accused of targeting female employees by creating WhatsApp groups. She pressured them to perform Islamic prayers, eat non-vegetarian food and advised them to dress and behave in an Islamic manner. Recently, a Nashik court has postponed the hearing on the bail petitions of Nida Khan, Danish Shaikh and Tausif Attar till June 12. Police have said that the investigation is still going on.
