This match will not be a part of the Test Championship

This test match played between IND VS AFG is not a part of the World Test Championship 2025-27. Yes, the result of this only test is not going to make any difference on the WTC points table. Actually, Afghanistan team has got the status of Test team 9 years ago. But, even after this, the team has not played many Test matches till now and it has not been included in the 9 teams which are part of the Test Championship. This is the reason that the result of this test match will not affect the WTC points table.

The first test between India and Afghanistan was played in 2018.

So far only one test match has been played between IND VS AFG. This match was played in 2018, in which Ajinkya Rahane took command of Team India in the absence of Virat Kohli. Talking about this match played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the Indian cricket team, who came to bat first, scored 474 runs in the first innings. For India, Murali Vijay played century innings of 105 runs and Shikhar Dhawan scored 107 runs. Apart from them, Hardik Pandya played an inning of 71 runs and KL Rahul played an inning of 54 runs.

At the same time, Afghanistan was all out for 109 runs in the first innings. Then India forced them to follow on and were all out for 103 runs in the second innings. As a result, India won the match by an innings and 262 runs in just 2 days.
