How many new players has IPL 2026 brought closer to Team India?
The fortunes of uncapped Indian players who are expected to impress in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 are set to shine. Team India will be announced on Saturday (June 6) for the tour of Ireland and England, in which Shreyas Iyer is to be crowned in place of Suryakumar Yadav. Apart from this, there is no possibility of major changes in the team.
Team India is going to enter the Asian Games this year. There will be a 5-match T20 series against West Indies during the Asian Games. Looking at this, it is understood that BCCI will give opportunity to new players in the Asian Games, which will be full of players who have done wonders in IPL 2026. - Vaibhav Suryavanshi – Left-handed explosive batsman Vaibhav scored 776 runs in 15 innings in IPL 2026 at an astonishing strike rate of 237.30. There is every possibility of him being selected in the Indian team for the tour of Ireland and England. If he misses this tour, it is certain that he will definitely be seen in the Asian Games. Vaibhav is currently on Sri Lanka tour with India-A team.
- Priyansh Arya – Opening batsman Priyansh has also gone to Sri Lanka with the India-A team for the tri-series. He scored 364 runs in 13 innings in IPL 2026 at a strike rate of 211.62. Last season, Priyansh had scored 475 runs at a strike rate of 179.24. After his stellar performance in two consecutive IPL seasons, he may get a chance in Team India for the Asian Games.
- Saqib Hussain – Right-arm fast bowler Saqib Hussain was not fielded by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their opening matches of IPL 2026. SRH gave him a chance in his fifth match, in which Shakib took 4 wickets for 24 runs. After this, he took at least one wicket in 9 consecutive matches. He took 15 wickets in 11 matches. This bowler coming from Bihar made headlines with his variations. Now he is in the race to be selected for the Asian Games.

- Harsh Dubey – Left arm spin all-rounder Harsh Dubey can make his Test debut against Afghanistan in Mullanpur on Saturday. He holds the record for taking most wickets (69) in a single season of Ranji Trophy. Harsh took 8 wickets in 8 matches in IPL 2026. He can be selected in the Indian T20 team for the Asian Games. He was included in the list of 30 probable players shortlisted for the Asian Games in January.
- Suryansh Shedge – This lower order batsman from Mumbai played some good innings for Punjab Kings in IPL 2026. Suryansh has the ability to bat explosively in the death overs. He was also shortlisted for the Asian Games.
