Lucknow, Read: Preparations for the ODI match between India and Afghanistan to be held on June 17 at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium have almost been completed. In the press conference held at the stadium on Thursday, officials of Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) gave information about the preparations related to the event. He told that both the teams will reach Lucknow by chartered flight on June 15, while a practice session will be held in the stadium on June 16.

Preparations for the ODI match between India and Afghanistan to be held on June 17 at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium have almost been completed. He told that both the teams will reach Lucknow on June 15 by chartered plane, while a practice session will be held in the stadium on June 16.

In view of the scorching heat, UPCA has arranged special facilities for the spectators. Association Secretary Prem Manohar Gupta said that free cold drinking water will be provided to the spectators coming to watch the match. According to the estimated number of spectators, an average of 15 glasses of cold water has been arranged per spectator, so that there is no inconvenience during the summer. UPCA Treasurer Sachin Shukla said that the sale of tickets for the match has started. Tickets for general audience are available starting from Rs 599 to Rs 699, 799 and Rs 1000. Additional 18 percent GST will be payable on these. Whereas tickets for premium and VIP stand are priced from Rs 5000 to Rs 25 thousand.
Doubt over captain Rohit’s playing also
Cricket lovers have also got a shock before the match. Star batsman Virat Kohli has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series due to injury. There is also doubt regarding the fitness of captain Rohit Sharma. The final decision on playing Rohit, who was injured during the IPL, will be taken after his medical report comes. It is believed that the absence of both the legendary players may have an impact on ticket sales. UPCA hopes that this match will prove to be a memorable event for the cricket lovers of Lucknow.
