Kareena Kapoor Khan hails Karisma as ‘90s Queen’ at ‘Brown’ screening

Karisma Kapoor is ready to return as the lead in the neo-noir crime thriller, Brownand her sister, the Bollywood superstar, Kareena Kapoor, calls her “an absolute ‘90s Queen.”

The Jab We Met star appeared at the screening of Karisma’s upcoming thriller, hailing her sister during the red carpet appearance, as per Bollywood Hungama.

“It is so nice to finally see Lolo, the absolute ’90s queen, back on screen. It is a role that is very different for her,” Kareena said about her sister. “Karisma Kapoor has been the dancing superstar in Raja Hindustani and all those classic films; I think this part for her is very, very different.”

The Bollywood leading lady also acknowledged that Karisma gives “her heart and soul to it, and I feel she will be spectacular.”

“The trailer, the way Abhinay has shot it, is very, very interesting, and I am really happy that Lolo actually took the plunge,” she added.

Kareena noted that while people always try to perform in their comfort zone, Karisma tends to push limits by trying “to do things differently, be it with Fiza or Zubeidaa; she has always pushed the envelope and has been such an inspiration for me and so many other people.”

The special screening of Brown turned into a memorable family affair as Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan came together to support Karisma Kapoor ahead of the release of her much-awaited series.

The neo-noir crime thriller marks Karisma’s return to a lead role, and the screening saw her family cheering for what is being described as one of the most challenging performances of her career.
