An important party meeting was held on Friday at the residence of Trinamool Congress President Mamata Banerjee. Only eight MLAs and six MPs attended. West Bengal Pradesh Trinamool Congress Committee was re-constituted in the meeting. After the crushing defeat in the assembly elections, the party has gone through a period of organizational reform, evaluation and review. At the same time, there are rumors of rebellion by MPs after the MLAs.
TMC has announced new appointments on many important posts. MP Sayoni Ghosh has been made the president of Trinamool Youth Congress. Derek O’Brien and Dola Sen will be the national joint secretaries. Both these leaders will help National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee. Chandrima Bhattacharya has been made the Bengal state president of TMC. Whereas Subrata Bakshi will be the Vice-President in the National Working Committee.

Swati Khandekar got big responsibility
Sajda Ahmed, Mamta Thakur, Nayana Bandyopadhyay and Swati Khandekar have been appointed vice-presidents of West Bengal Pradesh Trinamool Congress. Babar Ali, Pulak Roy, Arup Biswas, Rajib Banerjee and Ashima Patra will be the state general secretaries. Jyotipriya Malik, Dr. Rana Chatterjee, Videsh Bose, Trinankur Bhattacharjee, Jaya Dutta, Tapas Chatterjee, Vasundhara Goswami and Gautam Deb have been made executive members.
Madhurima Thakur became General Secretary
Madhurima Thakur has been appointed General Secretary of Trinamool Youth Congress. Mala Roy will be the woman president. Purnendra Bose has been given the responsibility of farm labourer, Becharam Manna has been given the responsibility of farmer wing and Birbaha Hansda has been given the responsibility of SC/AT wing. Subhashish Chakraborty has been made the treasurer.
TMC will go to High Court against Speaker’s decision
After the meeting, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee said that we have decided that the post of Leader of Opposition appointed by the Speaker is illegal. We will go to court against this on Monday. We will file a petition in the High Court. He accused BJP of killing TMC workers and registering false cases. Also said that we will fight against him in court and on the streets.
