If India is pressured, the world will be in turmoil! Putin is Modi’s ‘shield’ in US tariffs

‘New friend’ America fires tariffs. In this situation, ‘old friend’ Russia stood as a shield next to India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Western countries are putting unnecessary pressure on Modi (PM Modi) in the context of tariff war and conflict in the Middle East. Because of that, turmoil is being created around the world. Putin’s comments are very significant amid the US conflict with Iran and the resulting global economic crisis.

At the press conference, Putin said, “India is one of the best economies in the world. The highest growth has been there. The Indian economy will see huge growth in the coming days. It did not happen overnight. It has been possible due to the hard work of the Indian government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” Putin also said, “India is trying to build bilateral relations with most of the countries of the world keeping in mind the national interest. It is a very useful step.”

Putin insulted America without naming it in his speech. In his words, “Everyone knows that pressure is being put on India and Prime Minister Modi. But it is ultimately very harmful for international relations. It is not good for any country to create such pressure on India.” It should be noted that America does not look favorably on India’s oil import from Russia. The Donald Trump administration also imposed tariffs on India as a punishment for buying Russian oil. India has also reduced its purchase of Russian oil on US ‘instructions’.

Note that America has proposed to impose 12.5 percent additional tariff on India. The US Department of Commerce has proposed to impose these tariffs on a total of 60 countries, including India, using Section 301 of the US Act. Under US law, imports of goods made with forced labor should be subject to additional tariffs. The US administration is thinking of imposing additional taxes on Indian products by showing that argument. Putin gave a message to stand by India in such a situation.
