Lucknow: Amidst the ongoing discussions regarding the new organizational team in Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the decision now seems to be reaching the final stage. According to party sources, the proposed list of the state organization has been sent to the central leadership in Delhi and the new team will be officially announced as soon as the final approval is received from there. It is expected in the inner circles of the party that this announcement can be made anytime within the next two days to a week.
Waiting for green signal from Delhi
According to sources, after consensus was reached at all levels regarding the new organizational list, it has been sent to the central leadership. Now the final approval is yet to be given from Delhi. The state BJP leadership says that as soon as the approval is received from the central leadership, the new team will be announced. Curiosity about this process is continuously increasing among party workers and leaders.
There was commotion throughout the day in the BJP office in Lucknow. A large number of senior party leaders and workers came to meet State President Pankaj Chaudhary and Organization General Secretary Dharampal Singh. However, a clear message was given to the leaders that organizations should be patient with the list and not be hasty.
Expectations increased after meeting CM Yogi
According to sources, after returning from Delhi tour, the State President and Organization General Secretary also met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. After this meeting, there was hope that the new team of the organization could be announced soon, but the final approval is still awaited. There are intense discussions in political circles regarding the delay in formation of the new organizational team in the state.
It is being told that it is necessary to strengthen the organizational structure in view of the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections, but the new team has not been announced yet. Assembly elections in the state are likely before March next year, although there is speculation about early elections in some areas.
Caste equation is the biggest challenge
According to party sources, the biggest challenge in the formation of the new team is to maintain ethnic and regional balance. In a big state like Uttar Pradesh, it is considered very important to keep the organizational structure balanced among all the social groups. Apart from this, a special strategy is also being adopted for leadership selection in important areas like Kashi region. Here, appointments are expected to be made keeping in mind the preferences of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central leadership.
According to sources, complete consensus has still not been reached on the names of six regional presidents. This issue is being considered a major reason for the delay in the organizational announcement. Experts say that striking the right balance at the regional level is extremely important for the election strategy, especially when the opposition is in the fray with the Samajwadi Party’s PDA formula.
