Discord increases in Tamil Nadu BJP! After Annamalai, Vice President and Secretary also left the party

Chennai: These days, political activities have intensified in Tamil Nadu BJP. The resignation of several senior party leaders has exposed the ongoing tussle and dissatisfaction within the state unit. Recently, BJP State Secretary Sumathi Venkatesh resigned from her post, while State Vice President Karu Nagarajan has also decided to leave the party. Before these resignations, former president of BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit K. Annamalai had also decided to separate from the organization. Since his resignation, discussions had intensified in political circles that differences were increasing within the state BJP. It is being told that Karu Nagarajan may meet Annamalai soon, which has given further strength to political speculations.

Regarding his decision, Annamalai said that his priority has always been to work among the people. He believes that BJP should contest elections on its own in Tamil Nadu and the organization should be strengthened at the grassroots level. He also indicated that he is not retiring from politics, but wants to work in a new direction by connecting directly with the public.

For this purpose Annamalai has announced the beginning of a new political mass movement. He shared information about the initiative called ‘Annamalai Makkal Iyakkam’ (AMI) through social media platform X. According to him, this campaign is getting good support from the people in the initial phase itself.

What did Annamalai tell?

Annamalai said that till now more than three thousand volunteers have registered to join this new movement. Expressing his gratitude to the supporters, he said that his team will contact all the volunteers in the coming days and will move towards strengthening the organization.

Political analysts believe that this step of Annamalai can start a new chapter in the politics of Tamil Nadu. His decision to break away from the BJP and start a mass movement indicates that he is working towards creating his own independent political identity in the state and creating a separate support base.
