CJP Protest: Delhi Police gives permission to protest at Jantar Mantar, Cockroach Janata Party gets one day exemption

New Delhi, June 6. Delhi Police has given permission to Cockroach Janata Party to hold a protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday, June 6, 2026. The demonstration will run from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday. This permission has been granted on the request of party leader Abhijit Dipke, as per order number 88321/ND(X) issued by the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi District. The request letter was received in the police office today itself.

The police have approved this as a ‘one time relaxation’. It is clearly stated in the order that the demonstration is in accordance with the order of the Honorable Supreme Court of July 23, 2018 (W.P. (C) No. 1153 of 2017) and other appeals related thereto and S.O. This can be done only by following all the conditions prescribed in number L&O/48/2022. The party has pledged to ensure peaceful protests, not disrupt traffic and avoid any kind of violence or property damage.

Delhi Police has clarified that in case of violation of pre-determined rules for demonstration in Jantar Mantar area, permission can be canceled and legal action will be taken. Along with adequate security arrangements, traffic police will also remain alert during the demonstration. Jantar Mantar has been a major center of democratic protests in the capital Delhi. Organizations and parties keep protesting here every day on various issues.

Cockroach Janata Party leader Abhijeet Dipke has not yet publicly stated the main issue of this protest. Due to the name of the party, there has already been a lot of discussion in the opposition parties and on social media. The party is known for criticizing minor issues, problems of the common man and government policies in a sarcastic manner. The police have appealed to the party to follow the stipulated time limit and not allow any untoward incident.
