Team India: Shreyas Iyer becomes the new captain, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s entry in the Indian team, Team India announced
Mumbai. The Indian team for the tour of Ireland and England has been announced today (June 6), the Men’s Selection Panel met at the headquarters of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), in which the squad was finalized. The team will be captained by Shreyas Iyer, while Tilak Verma has become the vice-captain of the team. The selectors have also selected the team for the Asian Games. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been included in all three squads.
On the other hand, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the T20 series against Ireland and England. He will participate in the Asian Games 2026 and has got a place in the team in place of Mohammad Siraj. However, Siraj has been included in the T20 team on the tour of England and Ireland. Suryakumar Yadav has been stripped of his T20 captaincy and has not been included in the team. The decision to remove Surya was taken in the meeting of BCCI’s Apex Council Committee. The formal announcement was made just on Saturday.
