Tamil Nadu’s main opposition party AIADMK suffered a major blow on Saturday when four of its former ministers and senior leaders joined the ruling TVK. After the disappointing performance in the assembly elections, the party is facing continuous internal strife and exodus of leaders.

Former minister and former MLA Udumalai K. Radhakrishnan, M.C. Sampath, Kadambur C. Raju and N.R. Shivapathy met party general secretary N. at the TVK headquarters in Chennai. Took membership of the party in the presence of Anand and election campaign management general secretary Aadhav Arjuna. The fifth leader is J Karunanidhi. He has been a former MLA from DMK party.

Party divided into two factions

The crisis within the party came to the fore when 25 AIADMK MLAs defied the party whip and supported Chief Minister Vijay during the trust vote in the Assembly. This incident had exposed deep divisions in the party. However, later the rebel group asked party general secretary Edappadi K. Made peace with Palaniswami, but despite this the exodus of leaders and workers continues.

After the assembly elections, the ruling party TVK’s clan is continuously increasing.
